Why this Blog?

Have you ever solved a tricky problem, only to hit the exact same problem a couple of months later on a different project and have no memory of how you fixed it the first time? That happens to me all the time, and it is the main reason I am starting this blog.

Hi, I am Raul, a Magento developer. Most of my days are spent building and fixing e-commerce stores, and along the way I keep running into little problems, clever solutions and tools that are worth writing down. So that is what this blog is: a place to keep those notes, and to share them with anyone who might be searching for the same answer I once needed.

What you will find here

Mostly practical, hands-on stuff:

  • HowTos — step-by-step guides for the Magento tasks I run into: payment methods, Ui Components, cron jobs, data migrations, and so on.
  • Tools — the software and setups that make my day-to-day easier.
  • The occasional opinion — because not everything is code.

Why bother writing it down

A few things I keep reminding myself about why this is worth the effort:

  • Explaining how to do something to someone else forces me to understand it properly.
  • It gives me an archive of solutions to come back to when I inevitably forget.
  • Writing is a nice change of pace from writing code.
  • And, of course, sharing all of this with others who might be stuck on the same thing.

If any of that sounds useful to you, welcome aboard. I hope you find something here that saves you an afternoon.

Hope this helps.
